Activities & Facilities

Aside from the music, festival-goers can look forward to lots of fun outdoor activities for the whole family – or there’s the option of simply taking time out to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of one of the most idyllic spots in the Central Drakensberg. There’ll also be a variety of food stalls catering for all tastes, a beer market featuring several local breweries, arts and crafts, entertainment for the kids and all the necessary amenities (like hot showers) to make the festival as enjoyable as possible. Medical and security services will also be available around the clock.

  • Abseiling down the 45m face of White Mountain.
  • Fuffi slide across a nearby 100m-wide gorge.
  • Paintball.
  • Get a bird’s eye view of the stunning local scenery! Weather permitting, JNC Helicopters will be offering 10-15 minute flights for three or two passengers. Longer flights and sundowner flips available on request.

  • Bass fishing in either of the lodge’s two dams. Bring your rods and tackle!
  • Leisurely walks or guided hikes.
  • Swimming and tubing - pack your lilos and inflatables or hire tubes at the dam.
  • Abundant birdlife for keen birdwatchers.
  • Sight-seeing at nearby tourist attractions like the Bushman Museum at the Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve.
  • Supervised scavenger hunts and other fun activities for the kids.

Festival-goers can also make full use of the lodge’s facilities, including a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; a rustic 150-year-old pub with satellite TV; a superette on the premises; games room with table tennis and a pool table; children’s playground and trampoline; plus a large pool area.
