Ard Matthews, singer, songwriter and frontman of multi-platinum selling band Just Jinjer, is heading to KwaZulu-Natal next month for an exclusive performance at the Seaweed Music Festival, which runs from 1 to 3 April 2022 on a scenic farm in Eston, just 45 minutes from Durban.
With a reputation for world-class live shows, this Durban born and raised artist has been a household name since 1996 when Just Jinjer became the biggest-selling rock act in South Africa!
Fast forwarding through more than two decades of local and international touring, a global record deal in the USA and multiple headline slots and releases, Ard then firmly cemented his solo career when he scooped a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Alternative Album in 2019.
Since the start of the national Covid-19 lockdown, Ard has raised substantial funds for people and animals in crisis through a hugely successful Cape Town-based live stream rooftop concert series called ‘Play it Forward’.
Right now though, Ard is looking forward to joining a great line-up of top SA artists at the second edition of the new Seaweed Music Festival, surrounded by rolling cane fields and wide open skies!
Aside from the music, the festival also offers easy access roads, a huge undercover hangar stage area, bars, food and craft stalls, yoga classes, swimming pool, two fully stocked dams for fishing enthusiasts, wonderful birdlife, as well as grassed general camping with all the amenities.
